Tom Portner

My name is Tom Portner. I have been a full-time Breeder since 1990, once returning from college. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Livestock Marketing with an emphasis on Dairy at the University of Minnesota. Our farm Port-Haven Dairy is moving into its third generation.  It was established by my father Harold E Portner in 1945. We currently milk 280 cows.  We have 262 head of youngstock. Our rolling herd average is 23,300 milk, 954 fat, 800 protein. We have been on DHIR for 60 plus years.
